Exterior glass reveals every season in the Triangle: pollen haze, windblown dust, rain spots, insect residue, and mineral deposits around irrigation. Solar panels collect much of the same film but require their own access and manufacturer-aware handling. We first count panes or panel arrays, study ladder and roof access, and distinguish removable surface soil from failed seals, scratched glass, oxidation, or hard-water etching.
The cleaning plan may use detail tools or purified-water equipment depending on height, configuration, and surrounding materials. Frames and sills are addressed within the written scope, while screens are listed separately so nothing is assumed. For solar arrays, we avoid abrasive work and assess whether panels are safely reachable. Clear communication matters as much as clear glass: exclusions and pre-existing defects are recorded before cleaning begins.
Accessible panes receive a method chosen for height, glass type, and the residue present.
Loose soil and rinse residue are addressed around approved exterior frames and sills.
Divided-light windows receive detail work around grids and edges where water can collect.
Doors and high-touch glass are cleaned with attention to tracks, adjacent finishes, and foot traffic.
Suitable panels are evaluated for safe reach, mounting, manufacturer guidance, and nonabrasive cleaning.
Screen washing or dust removal is included only when listed, preventing surprises on service day.
Our method
Six deliberate steps keep the work predictable and the property protected.
We inventory panes, divided lights, screens, solar arrays, rooflines, locked gates, and ladder locations.
Pollen, ordinary soil, minerals, seal failure, scratches, and oxidation are separated because they do not clean alike.
Openings are confirmed closed while furniture, plants, delicate screens, and electrical fixtures are protected.
The appropriate tools are selected for reachable glass, frames, panel surfaces, and working height.
Corners, lower rails, mullions, and runoff paths receive attention so loosened residue is not left behind.
We review glass in available light, touch up remaining removable marks, and explain permanent defects or inaccessible sections.

Built for North Carolina

Spring can turn Triangle windows yellow-green in a single week. Pine and oak pollen cling to damp glass, summer humidity supports organic film on shaded frames, and frequent storms leave splash marks on lower panes. Solar panels face the same airborne debris plus leaf fragments beneath mature trees, while irrigation can add mineral spots that ordinary rain does not remove.
NC State Extension connects indoor and outdoor mold concerns to moisture management. On exterior glass, that principle explains why shaded frames and sills can re-soil faster than sunny panes. Cleaning removes accumulated film; it does not repair failed insulated-glass seals or stop minerals in irrigation water. We identify those differences so a clearer view is not confused with a glass repair.

“Will and his crew washed my house yesterday. He was responsive, provided a quick estimate, and arrived on time. The house looks good, and the overall work was solid. I did feel there was some upselling despite sharing photos during the estimate. I would have preferred more transparency upfront about what would be considered add-ons, such as pine needle removal, solar panel cleaning, and window washing.”

“Carolina Sky Softwash did an excellent job on cleaning my windows and deck. They were punctual, friendly, efficient and just did a great job all around. When I noticed a couple streaks on three of the windows after they had left, one of the crew, Oscar, came back out within a few hours and not only redid those windows but saw some others that needed more care and did those for no extra charge. Great customer service. I highly recommend Carolina Sky!”
